why selecting commercial quality makes more sense......

WHY USE A BED RUNNER

With a thorough understanding when it comes to the nuts and bolts involved to create bed runners that work in a commercial environment, the selection of bed runners offered by HotelHome have been purpose designed and developed to tick the boxes of all accommodation properties.

Some of the first versions of Bed Runners seen in the accommodation industry here in Australia were interpreted from the Bed Runners being used at luxury island resorts throughout Asia, where they were really not much more than a strip of silky fabric in a bright colour which run along the foot of the bed.

The humble Bed Runner has however now evolved and the reason Bed Runners are such a popular bed covering style in the Accommodation Industry these days is not only because they add colour and texture to the bed and room but they also help protect the bedlinen at the foot of the bed from guests luggage and even from shoes, especially in properties where white bed linen is being used on the bed (either a white quilt cover, white cotton blanket or white third flat sheet presentation).

We take the developing and designing of Bed Runners very seriously here at HotelHome and every possible scenario is taken into consideration which includes how a property will be dressing the bed, how often will the property be washing the bed runners, what else is going to be used as a co-ordinate with the bed runner and how will the guests be treating this product.

CORRECT FABRIC SELECTION

All HotelHome fabrics, especially Bed Runner fabrics are purpose constructed to ensure the fabrics have a high abrasion rate.

There is nothing worse than entering a Hotel room where everything looks pristine and clean until you come to the Bed Runner which is pilled, stained and covered in pieces of fluff, lint and dust – this automatically makes the guest think the room is dirty.

Guests never want to see this on the bed they are about to sleep in….

DIRTY BED RUNNERS?

In most cases the room and even the Bed Runner may not be dirty at all, and the only reason the Bed Runner has attracted so much grime is because the incorrect fabric has been used as a Bed Runner in the first place.

The important key points to consider when selecting Bed Runner fabric include:

WASHABILITY Ask to test a piece of fabric to ensure it performs well in your laundering environment and does not pill. A "Fully Washable" Fabric is always the best option for a commercial application.

TIGHTLY WOVEN FABRICS By selecting fabrics that are tightly woven will help prevent the bed runner from easily getting pulls

PROPER BED COVERING FABRICS All HotelHome fabrics are constructed specifically for Bed Coverings however even many commercially rated upholstery weight fabrics, providing they are tightly woven, colourfast and washable can work for bed coverings.

PRESENTABLE FABRICS Ensure the fabrics do not attract fluff, lint and hair as guests will complain if they feel anything in the room and especially if anything on the bed they are about to sleep on looks dirty.

SUSTANABLE DESIGNS

Although many properties would love the luxury of a regular soft refurbishment often the budget will not always allow it.

By selecting fabrics designs that will not date or look tired too soon ensures the room will still look fresh even if the same bed runner has been in use for an 18 month period. All fabrics by HotelHome will far outlast 18 months with some properties still using the same bed runners for up to 5-7 years as they have been able to keep washing the bed runners which still offer A+ presentation.

Many properties using HotelHome Bedcoverings often comment that although their products still look new and are in A+ condition, they just want to introduce a new fabric design, colourway and look to their property. By selecting the correct fabric weight and construction will ensure the bed runner will not look shabby only after a few weeks of use.
